There are many different brands and types of Inverters. Your installer will recommend the type you need.
- Inverters range in prices from $2,000 - $3,500.
- If you install a 3kW solar system you may want to consider a 5kW inverter for future expansion.
- Sine wave inverters supply clean, utility-grade power. Sine wave inverters are required for use in grid-tied systems.
- You should expect an inverter to function for at least ten years. The actual longevity depends on the location of the inverter (the more humid the climate or hotter the temperature, the shorter the life span) and whether or not regular maintenance is carried out.
