Lesson 8 Covers Working with Messages Already in Folders

Replying on a Foldered Message

1. Open your folders.

2. Highlight Mail Lessons and double click. (You can also select Open after single clicking on a folder).

3. Single Click on the message showing Lesson #7. It is now highlighted.

4. Single Click on REPLY.

5. You now see a "Reply Options" box. For now, just look at the the choices under "Original message".

6. Single click in the box to the left of the line, "include original message in reply". Notice that there is now a check mark in the box. If there is already a check mark in the box it is not necessary to click, in fact a click will remove the check.

7. Click on OK.

8. Now put the mouse's "I" beam in the left corner of the box where you type your message text and Press the enter key. This will give you some room to write us an answer. Notice that the entire message that was sent to you is in the message you are sending back to us with your comments.

9. Click on "Send".

Deleting a Foldered Message

1. Close the "Mail Lessons" folder. Remember how? Double click on the hyphen the left corner of the Mail Lessons box.

2. Open the "Copies to self" folder.

3. Single click on a message to highlight it. Select the message To: Pat McGarvey... RE: Making folders...

4. Click on the delete button. Another box will appear asking if you really want to delete, click on yes

5. Close the "Copies to self" folder.

Forwarding a Foldered Message

1. The "Folders" box should be open. If not, single click on the folder icon on the top menu line.

2. Double click on the "Mail Lessons" folder.

3. Single click on the subject with lesson " # 7 " visible.

4. Single click on the "Forward" on the top line and the following address menu appears.

As you can see from the image above there are two actions for you to take on a forwarded message. (1. The first, is addressing where it's going. 2. The second is deciding whether you want to add a note to the forwarded message.) Below is what the forwarded message looks like with a note. If the check is not in the box to edit the message the message just goes as soon as you click on Send

5. Single click on Send.

That concludes lesson 8. Click on File and then click on exit.
